What is the title awarded?
The award from Olympia College is Certificate in Executive Secretaryship.

Is CES recognized by the Malaysian government?
Certificate in Executive Secretaryship is approved Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Who can take this course?
Individuals working in administrative positions, junior secretaries, secretaries, and anyone who wishes to take up a career in secretaryship.

When are the intakes?
January, May and September every year. All campuses offer this programme, kindly contact respective campuses for details.

How long is the programme?
Full-time students: 1 ½ years consisting of 3 semesters + 2 months of industrial placement.
Part-time students: 4 semesters + industrial placement.
Full-time students attend sessions between 9am- 5pm and part-time students attend sessions from 6.30pm- 9.30pm.

How many subjects are there?
There are 14 modules + 3 MQA subjects to complete to obtain the certificate.

What are the entry requirements?
At least 1 Credit in SPM. Students 21 years and above or those who have other higher qualifications are still required to possess 1 Credit in SPM.

How are students assessed?
Students are assessed with assignments, mid-term examinations, group projects, written examinations and industrial placement.

When do students register for examinations?
Exam registrations close on the Saturday of Week 8 of the programme. Please contact the college for fixed dates.

The passing mark is 40% for each subject.

How much will it cost to re-sit an examination?

Can students stop midway through the programme?
Students who stop midway can rejoin and pick up from where they left off.

Olympia College issues texts aimed to guide students throughout each semester for each subject. There are course textbooks. The coordinator will assist students regarding to study materials.

Upon completion of the course, students can further to final year of the degree programme locally or abroad.

Most students obtain jobs in the relevant field upon completing the programme.

Who can take this course?
Individuals with a minimum of 1 credit in SPM/’O’ Level

When are the intakes?
January, March, May, July, and September every year at KL campus. Please contact the college for exact dates.

How long is the programme?
Full time course: 1 year 4 months consisting of 4 semesters.

How many subjects are there?
There are 14 Core subjects, and 3 MQA subjects (for local students).

How are students assessed?
Students are assessed with assignments, mid-term examinations, group projects, written examinations and industrial placement.

When do students register for examinations?
Please contact the college for dates.

What is the passing mark?
The passing mark is 40% for every examination or assessment given.

What about failing an examination?
Students who fail an exam or assessment may re-sit it in the next semester.

Is there any subject exemption?
Exemptions are given on a case-to-case basis. The application of the exemptions should be forwarded to the Registrar, which will then be forwarded to the Course Leader for approval.

How often are classes conducted?
An average of 4-5 days in a week and spend and about 8 hours in a day. However, this is dependent on semesters and subjects.

What are the study materials used?
Olympia College will provide reference books and links to e-books.

What options are available after this programme?
Students can continue into the Diploma in Information Technology programme.

What are the career prospects?
For better prospects, students are recommended to obtain at least a Diploma.

What will be the title of my award ?
The title of the award is Certificate in Commerce and it is awarded by Olympia College.

Is the programme approved by the Ministry of Higher Education?
Yes, the programme has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education to be conducted in all Olympia College Centres.

Has the programme been approved by MQA?
Yes, the programme has been approved by MQA

Who is this course suitable for?
SPM holders with less than 3 credits but wish to further their studies or wish to start working at the job entry level in IT or Business sector.

How many subjects will I have to study to get this award?
There are a total of 17 core modules + 3 MQA subjects to complete in order to graduate with the award.

What pre-requisite qualification is needed for me to follow onto this program?
SPM or its equivalent (at least 1 credit in any subject)
